General Policy Overview

Due to the regulated nature of firearms, ammunition, and related items, all sales and services are subject to strict legal and safety requirements. Many items sold or transferred by MAP Firearms are not eligible for return or refund once a transaction has begun.

Refunds or returns are not guaranteed and may be issued only when permitted by law and approved by MAP Firearms at its sole discretion.

Firearms Sales

All firearm sales are considered final once the background check process has been initiated. Firearms may not be returned or exchanged after transfer to the purchaser, except where required by law.

If a firearm fails a required background check or is otherwise denied by regulatory authorities, refunds are handled according to applicable laws. Transfer fees, background check fees, shipping costs, and administrative costs are non-refundable.

MAP Firearms does not accept returns on firearms for reasons including buyer’s remorse, preference changes, or improper fit.

Ammunition Sales

All ammunition sales are final. Ammunition may not be returned or exchanged under any circumstances once it leaves the premises or has been shipped, regardless of condition.

This policy is enforced for safety, regulatory, and liability reasons.

Firearm Transfers

Transfer fees are non-refundable once a transfer process has begun. If a transfer is denied due to background check failure or legal ineligibility, MAP Firearms retains all transfer-related fees.

Firearms transferred from third parties or online retailers are subject to inspection and compliance verification. MAP Firearms is not responsible for firearms damaged during shipping prior to arrival.

Accessories and Non-Regulated Items

Certain non-regulated items, such as accessories or apparel, may be eligible for return or exchange at the discretion of MAP Firearms.

To be considered, items must be:

  • Unused and in original packaging

  • Returned within a reasonable timeframe

  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

MAP Firearms reserves the right to deny returns that do not meet these criteria.

Services and Labor Fees

Fees for services, including gunsmithing, engraving, compliance processing, or administrative services, are non-refundable once work has begun.

Deposits for services may be required and are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.

MAP Firearms is not responsible for delays caused by parts availability, regulatory review, or third-party actions.

Order Cancellations

Orders or service requests may be canceled only before processing begins. Once processing has started, cancellations are not permitted.

Special orders and custom items are non-cancelable and non-refundable.

Damaged or Defective Items

If a non-regulated item is found to be defective upon receipt, MAP Firearms must be notified promptly. Any replacement or resolution is subject to manufacturer warranty policies where applicable.

MAP Firearms does not provide warranties beyond those offered by manufacturers.

Refund Method

Approved refunds, if any, are issued using the original method of payment unless otherwise required by law. Processing times may vary and are not guaranteed.

MAP Firearms does not issue cash refunds for credit or debit card purchases.

Legal Compliance and Restrictions

All refunds and returns are subject to federal and Connecticut state law. MAP Firearms reserves the right to refuse any return or refund request that would violate legal requirements or compromise safety.

Policy Changes

MAP Firearms reserves the right to modify or update this Refund & Returns Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting and apply to all transactions thereafter.
